Supervised Workplace Training (Traineeships)

Our aim is to develop graduates into professionals who are capable of working in all of our practice areas. The firm believes in appointing intelligent and energetic individuals and training them within the firm.

The Supervised Workplace Training program at Nowicki Carbone is unique, in the sense that we believe that our trainees should be given responsibility over files from a very early stage. They help manage cases from the beginning through until trial, and gain practical experience in dealing with clients and drafting documents. We do not believe in sheltering our trainees from making actual decisions, subject to supervision.

Although given early responsibility, the firm encourages other lawyers to act as mentors to a trainee. While a senior lawyer will act as the specific principal to a trainee, other lawyers are available and interact daily with each trainee. This level of interaction with partners and lawyers is a hallmark of the hands-on training and team-oriented approach at Nowicki Carbone.

It is the best of both worlds, whereby trainees make autonomous decisions, but can also trust in the natural processes of the firm as everything is reviewed by the whole team. Our Supervised Workplace Training program involves communication with not just the Partners and the entire team but also with the clients themselves, providing full exposure to the firm’s plaintiff clients from the start to the end.

'They can progress as far as they want to progress. The trainees are encouraged to use initiative and their development depends a lot on themselves'
